PLYMOUTH ARTS CENTRE
postgraduate studio development and critical practice residency.
To be awarded to a 2010 Graduate of Fine Art at University of Plymouth

Plymouth Art Centre (PAC) will offer a studio space along with professional development mentoring to a 2010 Graduate of Fine Art. The residency will begin on September 1, 2010 and end on May 31, 2011. At certain points during the residency the studio space may be shared with other artists in residence. There is no bursary with this residency so it is understood that the awarded artist may need to take employment but a significant commitment to the development of practice, which would include working in the studio and attending events at the Plymouth Arts Centre, is expected. During the residency period the artist will receive an agreed upon number of studio visits from Paula Orrell, Curator at PAC, Staff from Fine Art at University of Plymouth, and an outside artist or curator agreed between PAC and the awarded artist. The resident can not be in full time education during the award period.

TO APPLY:
• A one page CV
• A 100 word statement on your practice
• A 200 word statement on how you would use the time building your practice in Plymouth
• Up to two still images of your recent work
Applications are due July 15th and the award will be announced on August 1st.
Applications can be emailed to paula@plymouthartscentre.org or sent by post to:

The BBC have contacted us about the 2010 BBC Design Trainee Scheme:
'It's a great opportunity for your graduates to kick start their career in design and be paid for it'

Design Trainee Scheme
The BBC Design Trainee Scheme helps talented designers at the start of their careers gain an introduction into the television, film and interactive design industry.
The 12 month trainee scheme provides aspiring designers with practical experience to help them build on their existing knowledge and skills by working alongside experienced designers and design teams. They work on a variety of productions or design projects over the trainee period, thereby broadening their experience of working practices, programme genre or design platforms.
